A plasma pistol would be sweet, maybe on a light/heavy rocket launcher profile in lieu of an assault pistol. That or a plasma ammo mine or heavy rocket launcher. The plasma-bilities are endless!
A plasma pistol would be really ace, similar damage output to a Viral pistol but with a DAM11 template option too.
On that note, I think it's super weird that viral pistols are DAM 12 when all other "basic" pistol variants are 11.
Breaker Pistols are DAM12 too. I rationalise it as the difference between a backup or "officers" sidearm and a proper "combat" handgun.
Thanks, I forgot about Breaker Pistols. If I had to guess, it's that they decided to calibrate BTS pistols slightly differently than ARM pistols.
I still like the supposed rationale for the British Army switching to .38 S&W (which makes .38 special look like a magnum) revolvers in the mid 20th Century: It makes the officer feel better when he has something to fire, but as the thing he's most likely to hit is his own foot let's not give him anything too powerful.
I see it as Pistols covering a broad range of profiles and almost every unit carrying one, so putting them DAM11 to balance them. Plus, if every one was DAM12 it'd make CC easier for a fair few low-PH line troops too. Viral and Breaker are generally carried by tougher units as it is.
Sandstorm grenades. Same as Nimbus, but no "low visibility still affects MSV" clause. You know why my Govads want this :-P
Since this thread was active, we've actually seen a few new weapons arrive, latest being the Mine Dispenser. So I suggest... MORE MINES! Mad Rabbit/Krazy Kangaroo - deploys like a regular mine, but instead of a template, it jumps towards the trigger unit and has a circular blast. Smoke Mine - Just explodes like a smoke grenade. Not Mine - A regular mine but you deny it's yours. Phone Sex Mine - low-tech version of a Cybermine. Your Place Or Mine - Mine that only goes off if you score. Medikit Mine - Placing the most lethal technology in the Human Sphere in a landmine. Yorkshire Mine - Goes on strike. Can be closed by Margaret Thatcher. MineMineMineMineMine - Landmine full of those seagulls from Finding Nemo.
Are you talking about the Daiyokai? Because a MULTI weapon has a number of advantages over a Red Fury.
Maybe would be better if ARO and HMG Rangebands weren't covered by the Panzerfaust. Overall 1SWC for a 50 points HI is a nonissue if it gets you a better Active Turn. While inbuilt Shock has it's downsides, that's already half of what you want from Multi. B4 at DAM14 offsets the lack of AP for most targets. Not having any MODs and plain BS13 make it harder to utilize the longer -3 Rangeband. The real bummer is the 0-8 Rangeband, which is where a Daiyokai (Haris) wants to be. 0 Rangeband isn't perfect either but a lot better than the MMMR's -3. For something with the ability to fight at longer Ranges thanks to a Visor/Camo/ODD that doesn't want to be close, the MMMR might be more attractive. Lack of other mid range options is also a good reason to take it. In direct comparison to a 1SWC Red Fury I find the pricetag hard to look past.
