There's still 2 unaccounted for sniper shots between what is the wardriver and what is the yadu. The ones showing an Aleph holster and knife.

I suspect Aleph might be getting something extra for the gencon exclusive release.

 

Very interesting. Thanks for that. As a side note (sorry if this was answered through this thread already), given aleph is effectively out of sectorial opportunities, are the Proxies going to be in OSS or are they likely to remain Vanilla for balance?

 

You'd know as much from asking a crystal ball as you will know from asking this forum.

They definitely have explored putting them in, but they might decide to make that vanilla only like the EI aspects for CA.

 

I'm hoping for this.

I'm also thinking linked Dakinis will see them drop back to Mov 6-2.

 

If they can only link with a 4-4 Davanas then that'll slow the Fireteam down.

 

The Proxy Mk4 and Mk5 fluff makes reference to a "Special Situations Section" so there's certainly room for an additional sectorial (unless I'm totally wrong and that's another name for OSS.) As it is though, I would guess anything in Vanilla that isn't in Steel Phalanx will be in Vedic.

 

I'm pretty sure SSS is the formal designation for what players have come to call OSS:

"The duty of the Nagas in the Special Situations Section is to launch offensive operations independently or in tandem with regular forces, striking into enemy-held territory by ground, water or air."

"In the Special Situations Section, the Dasyu are the eyes and ears of field commanders"

"[Deva] are the most common tactical Aspects in the Special Situations Section, working as operatives or military advisors as the AI directs."

edit: I've seen it claimed that the SSS is everything under Aleph, including Steel Phalanx, but the selective way they refer to that organization really has me doubting it.

 

Interesting models. The new Dakinis are much more visually appealing than the old ones, and the Shukra Consultant looks like Adam Jensen. I'm curious to see how the 2 new models play out - hopefully one of them will have smoke.

 

Already seeing people point to the BoW prizes for this week (Dog Warriors and Posthumans) as being confirmation for Posthumans in Vedic.

Started Aleph back in 2011/2012. Now I get run the troops I used the most (there used to just be 4 Greek units) in a sectorial. This will definitely help with waiting for IA to come out... whenever that will be.

@Spleen Sorry to burst your bubble but official fluff has the SSS as Aleph's entire military arm which the SP/ASS and OSS are apart of.

Special Situations Section is the name for section of Aleph which contains troops; it is then further subdivided into OSS and ASS.

I'm a bit surprised at the naga sniper, since there is already a naga sniper miniature. But these looks good. Hope they will now rework deva's and asura's profiles

 

I think that might follow the box logic of wanting to include a long range weapon to give new players a feel for that kind of stuff. I’ll most likely buy two boxes and try to convert her into a BSG or combi profile.
