So, what do we estimate the chances of atalanta showing up in Vedic? Shes explitly stated to disappear from SP lines regularly for sensitive missions(read:OSS) by ALEPH.
Not sure I want Atalanta there. Definitely not on her current profile - there is enough MSV on the sectorial already.
I think something nee would be better. SP troops dont fit fluffy in vedic. I think those secret Atalanta missions are no refernce to vedic.
Pure curiosity, not trying to imply you are wrong: what do you think that would reference to? I actually started infinity in N2 with the Vanilla starter and her booster feeling like that makes sense fluff wise :D
3 x dakini 2.0 smg 1 x deva combi 1 x rakshaa operative multi rifle 1 x yakshaa observer marksman rifle 1 x dasyu msr A "possible" list of vedic units in cold front please take with a bit of salt!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rakshasa https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaksha They definitely fit the naming scheme.
Personally I'd prefer a lighter Asura, as a more affordable HI that isn't a Proxy or Ajax, and buff Asura to the kinds of heights a 70ish point HI that is one of the most advanced and capable lhosts that exists in the Human Sphere short of Achilles himself should be. At the very least replace the combirifle in the hacker profiles with a MULTI* and give us the option of taking the Spitfire profile as a lieutenant! Maybe Aleph can get the licenses for whatever targeting hardware and software PanO uses to get their HI's BS up, and distribute a patch and an upgrade kit for the Asuras to get their BS up to 15? Or something. * - or maybe even remove the hacker profiles entirely and replace them with something else now that we have the Danavas for a HD+ that doesn't break the bank.
So I'm only going to start Aleph with this new box so pardon the stupid question. But so so I'm absolutely on the same page, OSS = Vedic yes? edit: I've clarified that the answer is yes and I feel silly for being momentarily confused by someone. Also, one of you vets should put up a tactica article for the non-SP units because I look at the Dakini and I keep thinking I'm going to get them killed very easily. They're not as good at shooting as my Fusiliers and they can't really be high wip doctors/hacker cheerleaders. Their profiel seems to make me think they shoudl be halfway up the board but I can't imagine the Mimetism giving them that much of an edge to be able to use them as an effective workhorse fireteam - but I've literally never played against non SP aleph so I have no idea how Aleph plays. I was getting excited thinking that at least one Dakini would be Burst 3 in ARO between link and supportware bonuses but then I made the mistake of looking up fireteam bonuses (and restrictions) and being very disappointed...
Old Dakinis were probably my only hangup preventing me from playing Aleph. That barrier has now been removed.
Dakinis are better in a firefight than Fusiliers due to that mimetism, add in the fact they can ignore cover with supportware and you're shooting on BS14 in your good range and giving most opponents a -3 to any shots back. I've seen Dakinis HMGs tear through half an opponent's force by themselves so they'll definitely be a good offensive Fireteam, and the Multi Sniper with +1 Burst is effective in both active and reactive turns. The Paramedic also makes an excellent button pusher due to that 6-4 Move, ask any ISS player! Currently we know they'll need a Davanas to link (thanks to Bostria last year) but that's no great hardship as she can provide supportware or white noise for the team.
