    As per title.

Do you like the current way mixed links are designed?
Do you think that they are a colorful quirk or just a forced solution to the increasing profiles available to vanilla?

I think they're a very good solution. For one, they give the design team another balancing tool. They're also interesting for a player, giving more tactical options than a single-unit fireteam would.

Yup. They're one of the best additions to the game currently and hope the older lesser Fireteams get revisited.

Love them, but wish the Army Builder wasn't so iffy on it's notes about them.

Personal opinion: Remove Fireteam notes from Army altogether, the options are now complex enough that there should just be a link to the List of Fireteams page on the profiles of linkable troops.

Ugh, god no. Having Army display the special fireteams is precious when building a list. Remove it from the special skills, but do keep the notes and make the notes up to date.

If I have one complaint about mixed fireteams its that only the new factions are getting them and they are desperately needed to breathe life into defunct units in older sectorials. That's it. it's a wonderfully clever addition to the game that makes so much fluff/lore sense I'm overwhelmed that it wasn't done sooner.

SWAT teams have bomb/surveillance robots in their 'link teams' right now so why the hell has it taken so long to get REMs in links in Infinity? XD

I don't see them as inherently bad or good. Some can be done to make a link stronger. Some to keep their cost up. Some might be better off with more profiles instead of adding the complexity of mixing.

If I were updating my faction, I would do mix for Brigada, more profiles for Wildcats, then a required generic "leader" (like on Unidron or Keisotsu) for Alguacilles.

Could not agree more. Basically those sectorials without mixed teams (and those poor sods without haris, either....Military Orders...) are simply unviable versus those with. Barring uber-optimised stuff like...most of ariadna, and tohaa :D

I'm quite liking the mixed fireteams, though I would like to see some more introduced into the game for the legacy sectorials.

Personally I'm not sure how you could fit them into MAF (my current faction), maybe having the option for 1 suryat or 1 suryat + 1 raktorak to join a vanguard link or something.

I agree they give new options and flexibility to the game, also allowing more variety of listbuilding despite a small amount of different units. However, they need to be applied to all sectorials, not "only the new ones", and there is a VERY high need of revision to the Steel Phalanx, since not only they lost a big tool (able to field more than one Fireteam) to the widespread distribution of Haris and Duos (formerly, only Qapu Khalqi had Haris), they now loose the "mix & match" they somehow had (an optoin that, in the end, boiled down to "heroes + followers"), yet they keep the limitations of only up to 4 members, and only with a hero/officer (plus only 3 troops able to allow the formation of Thorakitai links, those being Hector, Alke and Trasimedes, the first costing about 70+pts, the second demanding 2.5 SWC, and the third being almost the only viable option).

So yeah, forgetting the "old" sectorials for the shiny new ones is not osmething I enjoy. Add to that the "proxy anything", and they actually might be losing in sales.

This may be a language issue, but Steel Phalanx have not lost anything. Over Sectorials gaining more variety hasn't removed anything from SP.

If your opponent now can use same tools as you plus some special tools available only to him, then yes you have lost your uniqueness, edge/trick/strategy in the game/fight.

    'they lost a big tool'
'they now loose the "mix & match"'

Neither of these is true. They lost being unique in that, but they haven't lost the ability to have multiple mixed Fireteams.

I might have not been clear.

The Greeks had a Fireteam formation system different, with perks and limitations. The perks have banished, since all factions now have those (or better), but the limitations have not.

Considering how the game is played, and balanced against, 300pts, where the greeks struggle to field 3 fireteams of 4 members (and yeah, can field 3 fireteams of 3 members... but I'd say that is Tohaa's shtick), while other factions can easily go for Fireteam of 5 plus Haris, and both hav mixd components in the last sectorials, I'd say that no, it's not a problem of "losing a big tool", but losing the justification for the limitations their Fireteam system had.

The only thing SP lost was +3 on Discover for their 4-man teams.

Obviously they retained the aftermentioned "property" but as I've mentioned, if your opponent can apply same tool against you then yes, you have lost something in terms of a gameplay/strategy (it can be peoticly called "losing an edge").

OK, so it was just a language issue. Again, the perks have not been lost of banished, they're no longer unique perks. And Steel Phalanx aren't exactly doing badly for power level, so the limitations don't seem to be an issue.
