Simple question : can a bike troop be deployed already unmounted ? The bike would be deployed base to base with the biker I checked the new AI motorcycle rules and it allows it but there is nothing said in the Motorcycle page
The question is, was normal bike already allowed but it had raised questions and CB improved the rule by taking the occasion to add it specifically in the new AI Bike (and eventually they could add it to normal bike if they ever release a new print of core rule) ? Or does the existence of that line in this skill now means that other skill without that line cannot do it ? What if the ai bike had not existed (ex: a couple month ago), how does one would answer "can a bike troop be deployed already unmounted ?"
Motorcycle units have no option to deploy unmounted, this has been the case since at least the start of N3. AI Bikes have an additional rule that lets them deploy unmounted, this is a new option unique to AI bikes.
Where does it restrict the ai bike to be deployed in base to base? It's a g:synch rem at that point, not a bike. Place it anywhere you would place a g:synch rem.
But Prone says: During the Deployment Phase, players may deploy one or more of their troopers Prone by placing a Prone Marker beside them.
Technically Climbing is just a position not a state. Mechanical Transmutation is a better comparison: and that includes a line about deployment options. TBH looking at it: Bikes are a weird exception. The general rule appears that you can freely choose the state.
It's more than just a state though, it's deploying using a second alternate profile, and there's no rules that cater to how you put the bike down when doing so (RAW I'd argue if you're deploying using the second profile that doesn't list a motorcycle as equipment it shouldn't ever be on the table).
Yeah, I'm convinced by the argument. At the time I still read IJW's post the opposite way to what he intended.
