All their existing units have models of some sort so in that sense they are almost complete. They are missing a few N3 sculpts currently: Suryat Vulkan shotgun Kurgat autocannon Kurgat MK12 All Zerat profiles Rasyat profiles In terms of new units I can't think of any mentioned in the fluff that don't have models. With Shas in redevelopment I doubt we'll see any new Morat units anytime soon.
Rasyats are being resculpted. Their dossier was shown, same artist who just redid the Raicho is doing them.
He's cool but also the runt of the litter compared to a vanguard or the new shotgun-god-of-stadium-rock-kurgat. Ended up converting a new ones from the vanguard and took the autocannon off my older model about a year or more ago. The list above sums it up for sculpts if you add raktorak red fury Hoping to see some profile rebalancing, as much as I love them Morats in my opinion need some tweeks (suryat phys, raicho full auto, autocannon kurgat harris and some redressed special mixed links like Yaogats)
Considering the whole Morat line has been getting reworked I say that is not the case. Especially with the new Rasyat & Rachio sculpts coming out this year plus the new Kurgat model that has already been released. CB will finish the remaining models/loadouts from the Morat range that need to be redone to fit in with the resculpts. I'm personally looking forward to them completing the sectorial and finishing up my own Morat force.
I would not be surprised to see some new profiles whenever the next main book comes out, but that's still a ways off. The army isn't everything I want it to be, but that's another conversation for another thread.
I want either; A KHD Daturazi A KHD unit type that can join Daturazi A Special Character with KHD that can join Daturazi I feel their link is irrelevant to standard play, because let's not kid ourselves into thinking ITS is *not* standard play for 99% of people. Their whole schtick is that they worship the EI data stream so, to me, it makes perfect sense for them to have a trooper/character/priest/etc with the capability to expel some dirty human coders from their perfect alien data. I also feel that, around the time the next book releases, we will see a massive reshuffle over most existing Sectorials to add more mixed link options. They buffed ISS, they added them to JSA, Druze/Mercs are chock full of them, and not Tunguska has a whole bunch - Mixed links are the future.
There a few mixed links in Morats tbf, with Kornak and Raktoraks being able to join quite a few. I'd quite like Raktoraks to be able to join all links, except maybe Dats. I'm wondering if being able to add 1 or 2 Suryats to a Vanguard link might see Vanguard hit the table a bit more. I can just never seem to get them to work, the other core options perform so much better generally.
I almost always play MAF or Onyx and have yet to use a Vanguard fireteam in my MAF lists. I find MAF don't have enough strong active options outside their fireteams. Taking a vanguard link deprives me of that. The biggest strength of Vanguard is the Morat rule but I don't use it because the LT options aren't good enough to put into dangerous situations regularly. Plus, rules designed to function AFTER bad things happen doesn't sit well with me. I typically want rules to help me win, not mitigate loss. I should probably experiment with Vanguard but I don't get many games in nowadays. I imagine MAF is considered fairly complete by CB. But I'd love to see some more additions close to this quality:
I wish for the Vanguards upgraded to MI to do something.... Oh wait, or simply, upgrade the AVA of Rodoks to 8 and haris option, worth it for me. Im not using vanguard anymore, sorry mate, i hate their profile using as a basic fireweaponry team. Rodoks and Suryats are the best team composition to do this jobs, cheap orders for hungries, and special teams with daturazzis or yaogats, nothing more to explore.
I like Vanguard links because linked Anyat is a boss. And because it provides a high concentration of mobile specialists. I'm surprised nobody has complained about the obvious comparisons with the new Securitate. Similarly, after USAriadna came out and had Grunts with Arm 3 - I'm surprised they didn't retroactively address the unrealistic Arm 1 that Vanguard have. Power creep is a term that gets used a lot for other game systems, but generally not for Infinity - however I think it applies to Morats/Combined a little. I feel our stuff is almost universally priced a few points higher than equivalent stuff in other factions. Rodok Haris would make a world of difference because mimetism, defensive missiles. One other complaint I'll raise, which may be remedied this month (but probs not), is the Raicho/Pilot having Wip 12. When no other Morat has less than Wip 13. Don't make sense to me.
Surat hmg LT is like a lightweight sogorat. I love it. That, yaogat LT or kornak are the only 3 I can bring myself to use. Suryat links are pretty meh, except the kornak haris with a raktorak can be sweet but pretty expensive. I want a datirazi witch-doctor. I sincerely hope MAF is not complete. It needs it's profiles to bounce around into something more cohesive. It's a faction that does not leave the opponent wondering what you're going to do. For that you must be extremely clever, and hope the dice are on your side. Kinda hard to trick your opponent when you have absolutely nothing hidden. That's fine... gimme something to make it more fun though.
Can't edit On mobile: By more fun I mean, there's few things in MAF where you get to rub your hands together giddy with anticipation. Getting datz kornak or hungries into CC is one of those things. A sogoratcoming back up for the 3rd time is another. But most of MAF consists of having middling troops do middling things. The autocannon COULD be a noteworthy thing to be afraid of, but currently, every tag in the game is less likely to be harmed by it than it is to kill the autocannon. The MAF does not appear to be the resilient violent bastards theyre described as - with exception , of course. How can they capture that in the other troops That aren't named kornak or daturazi and such?
I've thought of that! It cpuld be cool. Or just a medic gun or something that only brings them back for a turn in the dogged state or something after a ph+3 or something. They could add to the morat skill to involve some second-chance thing where there's a chance they go Dogged. I dunno. More berserk. Many things could happen! But, if jus cost adjustment happens, swell.
