I think you're far too much stuck on everything having an NWI. I do understand it's Aleph's trademark, but this doesn't mean we can't have units without it. Danavas problem isn't lack of NWI, or "Nomad stats" - I really don't understand what this means, btw - but the fact that it outcompetes Deva and Asura hackers. Here I'll agree with you, those units really need some update.
I don't see the Danava as trash. I compared her with my celestial guard hacker and got for 4 points a HD+, Maestro, V:courage, WIP +1, pitcher and breaker pistol, a good deal in my opinion I agree that she would be more optimized without the combi or a smg instead but to be honest, i would have been a bit mad (but also a bit happy) with such a topnotch profile which would cost the same or less of the cg hacker. In the end, i play her everytime, even in combination with a hd+ asura sometimes.
MSV3 should be cheaper, that alone would improve the Asura Hacker. Although it wold be nice if she got a better weapon, like a SMG (universal solution for improving a profile while making it cheaper at the same time).
I know, but really, it's the main reason I joined this faction and I do think it suits the faction lore perfectly. And when I joined, humanoid Vedics all had it besides Nagas. Cyborgs, able to ignore / simply not feel pain and keep doing what they need to. There isn't like one thing to say and be done with it. But usually one can tell which faction a unit belongs to just by looking at profile. Not always, of course, and sometimes it makes sense that the profile isn't it the faction you thought it is. For example, Cassandra Kusanagi falls into this category - to me her profile screams Steel Phalanx. Aaaand here we hit the problem. Danavas is built to be cheap. What can you do to Deva and Asura Hackers to make them valuable past Danavas without then invalidating Danavas? If there were no Danavas, there was a simple solution: Deva : to get cheap hacker, remove Combi Rifle, give her better Pistol, HD+, maybe another option to also take repeater Devabot for slightly more expensive variant Asura: move her into really-expensive-but-worth-it territory by upgrading her Combi Rifle to MULTI Rifle, maybe another change to emphasise her eliteness (I would love 6-4 move) This way, you'd have real options without stepping on the toes. With Danavas in the mix, you'll end up invalidating at least one of the 3. Either Deva will get downgraded in some way to be cheaper and compete more directly with Danavas, invalidating one or the other, or upgraded to be more expensive and compete with Asura. And I don't see any way to alter these profiles to make them not compete somehow. Not without completely invalidating the idea of these profiles. I for example don't want a KHD on Asura. KHD on Deva would work, which would remove her from competition. But then we go back to the point that I want NWI and don't need more Combis. Wasn't that the change from N2 to N3? We had that, got almost nothing except Posthumans. See my comment here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/what-can-we-expect-from-vedic.686/page-18#post-113201 ;TLDR : I don't think her profile is bad, just unnecessary clutter and completely unfitting lore-wise for Aleph. I don't want her more optimised. I want her gone or completely different. I see you are a masochist. HD+ Asura is, to my great lament, effectively unplayable. I only bring her when I'm deliberately bringing a weak list. Personally, I don't want her cheaper, I want her better. There is a difference.
Well, she could use upgrade from Courage to Dogged, which would put her on the Naga level; cheaper synth body, but still able to take some punishment. Still, it's not really what makes or breaks the unit. Move them sideways. Give them equipment and capabilities the Danavas won't have. Asura hacker could use SMG/Pulzar combination instead of MRifle, this should keep the cost down to an acceptable level. Abrilete is also right that MSV3 should get cheaper across the board. Devas are harder, but giving them some useful Upgrade programs, as well as access to some additional tools - I'd love to see E/M weapons there - should help.
Yes, but no. First, I don't see Corvus Belli changing Danavas (see all the upgrades Bolts got, and Danavas is perfectly useable). Second, that would satisfy my lore-objections to that profile by going via the "minimum change" route. Would not make me enjoy her at all. But that's just me. And would still leave the competition problem. Devas are marginally harder due to all the Shock ammo available to random troopers. I don't see a Deva regular hacker EVER being a good competition to Danavas. As for Asura, I mean, yeah, you could go that way but I'd hate it. As I said, I don't want cheaper just to be cheaper, I want her better. I want her immune to Shock as it should be, and with a good weapon. Alternatively, I could go with reduction to SMG or some pistol but major improvements in mobility so she can Cybermask then run up the board - something like 6-4 with SuperJump or Climbing Plus. Don't want Pulzar, big template weapons scream indiscriminate spraying to me and I don't feel like it would be Alephs thing on otherwise very precise Vedic troopers. Zapper is small template so I could get behind it. Instead of Nanopulser.
It might be a bit much, but I would love to see the Asura get some type of skill like Total Immunity, or perhaps the less expensive veteran lv1. Something that secures her position as the toughest 5'1" (155cm for those who live in countries sensible enough to use metric) girl on the board.
The Davanas thing is more of a "Game trumps lore" design choice. Giving the danavas NWI or Dogged would push her points up to 30+ and since she is much more of a backline troop, she can get away without it.
So take away her Combi Rifle. Not needed, we have plenty of Combi Rifles. Nobody would notice it missing. At all. It's not even sculpted. Presto, 25 points (or less) with NWI. Loreful Aleph unit.
Dakini 2.0: They have four arms. And they have Equipment: Nanite-repair-system* *It's like regeneration, but it activates automatically at the end of the turn and will not kill the user. It repairs unconscious Lvl 2 just one step per repair (to Lvl 1).
I would love dakini 2.0 to be light heavy infantry (arm 3 or so). It is a gap we do mor have filled and would be nice if we got something for that.
Sorry, was occupied in thought of what that profile would be more so then physically looks like. For looks, 4 arms sounds great. I'm thinking a buffer dakini that has a splash of the marut with the 4 arms, take or leave sword/shield
Any bets for the miniatures in the future 2 players box? 3 dakinis, deva, asura, dasyus and new profile? Enviado desde mi Redmi Note 4 mediante Tapatalk
This is going to sound like an odd complaint but after seeing the new profiles, rules and sculpts coming for Tunguska, I'm hoping for things as out of the box for Vedic and also my other holdout - Ramah task force. RTF is going to be visually disappointing Ariadna-likes if the Hakims are anything to go by (at least from my preferences) bu I'm super hopefully that they go out of the box with Aleph. However, knowing my luck, they'll say pinnacle aleph tech = exact human look-alikes and we'll get a bunch of normal everyday units instead of really weird out there, attention grabbing visuals like the holomen/boracs.
Honestly I'm still just expecting Dakini 2.0 to be a reference to a resculpt rather than a new profile.
