Then explain what you meant, because it didn't make any sense at all.

    • Trooper. Game element with a Troop Profile, which belongs to the Army List of any player, capable of spending Orders as well as declaring and receiving Attacks.
Lets take an Umbra Legate for example. Where is it identified an Umbra is a Trooper? Just because it meets the definition above? What happens when it no longer meets that definition during the game? When the Umbra is affected by a state such as stunned.

Like I argued with myself earlier, the rules become absurd if the core identity of a troop is capable of changing during the mission due to temporary states in this way.

By absurd I mean, it's obviously not possible to play this way and there is an alternate way of reading it where it doesn't get absurd - therefore not really necessary to fix mechanically except for completeness sake (which in my opinion is not worth crusading for).

(However, there's inconsistency in close relation to this interaction that makes me doubt it really matters if a Perimeter weapon is disconnected or not because the state has nearly no impact on a non-trooper, different topic, though)

This is a topic that has always bothered me a bit. Disconnected SEEMS like a null state in the effects, however it isn't one, and can be easily recovered if it was just due to a failed Coherency check. In fluff terms, a disconnected bot is sitting there doing nothing, not dominating/securing any kind of area.

You can imply I'm being silly, but from my point of view it's silly that these issues exist in the first place. Some simple/easy/obvious planning could've prevented it.

EDIT: instead of a Trooper being defined by certain conditions, define it by plastering it on their profile. It's basically there anyway in the form of Support trooper, elite trooper etc.
Agreed. I could also see an argument for disconnected simply meaning disconnected from it's controller and unable to take their orders. Which doesn't necessarily mean incapable of defending itself or operating in some capacity. EDIT: I take that last part back, the fluff really does seem to imply that disconnected makes it near useless.
