Well, by now we are all aware that the Decapitation for PanO in the Kurage crisis will give any unit whit mountain terrain access to AD1.

This means that the Mighty Jotum just became a potential surprise monster.
But getting excited about this and letting ideas run away with us could get us in a fair ammount of trouble in this situation. A TAG walking on a flank is a terrifying prospect, but a TAG walking on a flank into hacking area of a good hacker....well its a nice way to give your opponent a new piece?

So how do we leverage this to our maximum fun and benefit?

Well whatever list we build will have to be tough enough to potentially hold out for a turn with 100 pts off the table, as well as being capable of clearing a flank to allow the Jotum to enter the table and ensuring that there are no nasty hackers able to nab him when he arrives. Benefits of this is that, because Decap is the mission there is little to no point in bothering with Decoy Lts as the specific identity of the Lt will be a known quantity. (And double Jotum is funny i admit, but pricey)

as such I propose the following list

    [IMG] PanOceania
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Why would you want mighty jotum to be closer to enemy repeaters, hackers, to be in zero band for his weapons (ok ...there is DEP:)), to be closer to source of scirmishes and possible engage, smoke and etc. ???

Secondary attack bit ? Damn, Bakunin/Tunguska would seem to have a great day against such a list with single KHD and HD+/AHD ;/

It might be me, but I really find it hard to play with 100pts TAG ;/

You could choose to deploy it in one of your own close zones with AD1. This would mean you could hide it from your opponent while keeping it safe from attack if going second, and potentially surprising your opponent.
You would also deploy it in optimal range for the HMG in this way. It would be dependant on the terrain, as you would need terrain on the flanks in order to effectively deploy withput getting shot.

Tbh I would take cutter and just spend some time at looking on both flanks of table as if I was deciding which flank to drop the Jotum.

Multiterrain isn't mentioned to count for the AD benefit if that's what you're implying

Honestly I think the psychological effect is going to be greater than any practical effect.

The second an opponent knows this is his matchup, he'll start thinking Jotum. Make him spend his assets on repeater coverage, E/M, staring at board edges with linked missiles, etc.

Then pounce on him with your hidden Swiss Guard/Cutter/Croc Men, who can exploit the big gaping hole that's now opened up in the midfield.

Shrug. Thats you. Personally i terrify people with them

And yes hackers are going to be a thing but a board edge is 24 long. And even minus the 12 dz thats a large space for even a 55 mm size troop to fit.

Personally im going tonbe trying this at least once. Too cool an idea not to

I couldn't decide who's advice was better... and I just panicked. I guess I have to play it now.

Hmmn, AD Jotum and Cutter actually make a pretty good pairing.

They are certainly going to do different things!

Lord... I may have to try that.

a Swiss Guard and croc man eyeball up to be the same as a jotum and I think will cause more headaches for your opponent if you try to keep them off balance in this manner acting like there is a tag in reserve. The Jotum trick will only work once before someone brings TO monomine or missile launcher to cover their flanks or simply two 8 point flashbots and an AHD. In order to effectively use it you have to leave it off the table some times or play a cutter in the middle to screw up their deployment. People playing on this map will suspect a TAG it’s up you to both confirm and subvert those suspicions.

@daboarder I have one gripe about the list and that would be that it is very vulnerable to certain things. Not just Hacking but also Mutts, CC and dealing with Deployables outside of the Jotum and Peacemaker Auxbot.
While I wouldn't mind playing this vs Tohaa or Ariadna it certainly seems rather specific for a matchup and mission. AD also puts a lot of distance in between Jotum and Engineer while secondary attack options aren't overwhelming.

Would probably take a second look at Peacemaker, Sierras and EVO to back the Jotum up with unhackable upfield presence and get a pair of Regulars to mine your DZ and secure your Lt.
Never tried it or even thought about it before - would a Croc Minelayer pair well with a Peacemaker Spitfire?

Less vulnerable in practice id say.

More and more im finding that pano can really make sniffers work wonders for them when combined with an lgl or hgl or sml or auxbots. Dropping camo widely and creating a satlock zone where anything inside risks being satlocked and then fire rained on their heads.

Excuse my ignorance but how can you take bots without a hacker?
