Hey guys, need some help/advice on my bot list below. I havnt played that many games, so the idea is more theoretical, but I would value your input a lot. So many thanks in advance! I usually play a vanilla list around smoke/msv deva, machaon and posthumans with nagas/dasyu and zayin but I am getting a little bored and want to mix it up a bit and leave my comfort zone, so here we go: The rough idea: give the opponent a hard time in the reactive turn with overclock, total-reaction, and buffed dakini hmg, while the spam of specialists focus on the objectives. Overclocked Devabots will be a pain in the a** at close range, lots of repeater coverage, hacking like hell and mk2 + garuda will take care of the hard hitting. The Samekh is just in there for the style, still believe the shenaniganz will be too order intensive, so perhaps i will switch him for a spitfre for the garuda. I also like trying the garuda with HMG. (The groups are not at all final btw) What are your thoughts? Thanks so much! Looks fun. You can do a lot of things, and aside from Daleths and net rods, there is no repetition. Dependant on your losses and terrain, you’ll play differently each game. With two Daleth I doubt, that you’ll get much use out of the Sensor lt. I love the Samekh - although it can feel like a waste of orders. But indirekte fire is a great multipurpose tool to take out everything from link teams to TAGs. I love paramedikinis, but consider turning yours in for two Lamedh. You’ve got tons of specialists, so it’ll just end up as a cheerleader. And I do miss some smoke. Smoke wins games - particularly Eclipse. But this looks fun.
@regelridderen @DFW Ike Thanks so much for the feedback guys! Everything you say makes a lot of sense. RIght now I only own two devabots, so there is that. But as i will probably buy the scylla box anyway (right now I proxy her with one of my four devas, as the model always seemed a little too sp to me) i will have a chance to change that. As for the Dakini: yap, you are right, two lamedh makes much more sense, I will have to see how it will fit with the orders. For smoke: I totally see that, yet, for rule of cool purposes, I dont really like phalanx models in this "here we go vedic" list. Need to find a way to do it without, but in the end i always end up including a chain myrm... :( Could you elaborate a bit on how eclipse wins games? Because countering normal smoke? Thank again for everything! cheers
It’s quite simple, you cover an objective with Eclipse smoke, and walk your specialist up to push the button without suffering any FTF rolls. Your opponent can do nothing to counter this, no guns, no MSV2, no marker states, no anything. You can do it, even after all your big guns have been removed by lucky crits and bad rolls - it is why the CoC officer and Machaon are the best specialists in the game.
