The only problem is, unlike some hackers like assault hackers the KHD really relies on its stats. But if you are using it as a specialist that much it is probably a better choice. I'm curious why you haven't already been using the Zero?
I have but I only tend to run one as a specialist as I like the extra camo at start from the minelayer. Then my interventor runs up the other half of the board
I think the Heckler is better than that, but I agree about the price-point for the Mutts. 5pt irregular order? OK, I almost always take one of those anyways. *And* it gets a Jammer?!? (maniacal laughter)
Losing jammer would make the BSG a better choice. BSG+EMarat is interesting but Combi+Jammer is more useful. I never take 'just a Combi' Zero, so I don't expect I would for Hecklers either. Combi+Fast Panda lacks something in Vanilla and probably also wouldn't be worth it in TJC. Minelayer Cybermines/Dep Rep would be worthwhile though. Equally you could make Mutts without Jammers work by leveraging the EMarat more. LSG+EMarat Mutt profile for ~8pts would be interesting. This won't happen though. I think the best possible solution is ISO-1 (can be Reset out of) and ISO-2 (can only be fixed by an Engineer). It still makes Jammers a great way of stopping rambos / links but has a limited long term impact.
Yeah. Plain combi Heckler isn't as interesting as Shottie+EMarat. Like what happened to IMM. Used to be that there was just the one Immobilized state, now there's IMM1/'annoyed'/Reset versus IMM2/'screwed'/send an engineer.
Precisely. The logic already exists so it's simply a matter of extending it. It's honestly implementable in the 'next book'. Which is why I keep spruiking it.
Right, so you're giving that up for the Jammer. If Mutts had one profile with Jammer and the other with Smoke you would have to give something up.
That any camo marker near a Nomad/Tunguska DZ could be a Jammer is in of itself, very strong. Even if you take a Red Fury or KHD, your opponent doesn't know that, and can't just roll a Su-Jian past that rooftop camo marker just in case.
The zero with deployable repeater is a fairly popular choice from the lists I see used on the forum and I think the heckler fast panda profile is better than that zero, even without the jammer.
I agree, the Zero has to walk over to drop the DepRep where the Heckler can release Kung Fu Panda into the wild to be with his people, and the Heckler is also slightly better at gunfighting and has the Bob Marley funky jammin' machine. It's one place where the infiltration doesn't really bring that much.
Yeah a deployable repeater is nice but really, he/she's also popular because he/she brings an E/Mauler, which is a good alternative solution to things you wouldn't otherwise have a direct answer to. Like ODD Achilles or Immunity:Possession Avatar and the likes.
Plus if you just want the repeater, there is the Tomcat... sure, it costs SWC... but he can deploy in the enemy's face (if you manage to clean the approach).
Or the Meteor, which doesn't cost orders to drop that repeater and brings Sensor up there too... and can AD straight into the middle of the table. On a different note, I will now have to look at all my Interplanetario lists with the question "How the hell is this going to deal with Hecklers?" in my mind. That's assuming the profiles will be added to Army before then. Can't just Spec Fire against them like I would with Mutts if desperate. Damn, this is gonna be hard. Guess my Irmandinho is now a must-take in both lists, either for active hunting or repair.
Koni's words: 29th of June, Army update with Tunguska (BIG update. And he confirmed it will be more profiles than just Tunguska's Starter).
That`s really unfortunate news for me((( I had a hope to try some Hecklers at local tournament but lists submit date is June 22th.
OOOHHH YYYEEEAAAAHHHHH! Screw it, I might play Nomads at the INterplanetario. That kind of control in Limited Insertion means you don't even -need- linkteams.
That's fair. You do lose 8" deployment, e/mauler, and using the Panda takes your only Camo. But possibly.
