I don’t get the negativity. This is pretty great for FRRM players. They get three new fireteams (Loup Harris, Briscard Harris, 1-3 Moblot and 1-2 Metro special core and the Alguaciles Hacker now counts as a Metro for fireteams), which seems to me like a substantial buff. That should keep people having fun playing until a possible FRRM make over in some years. And while I get that everyone likes new models for their preferred faction, there is a ton of more exciting things for CB to release (TAK, Vedic, Tunguska, Tohaa Sektor?, ...) with a lot more added value to the game as a whole.
What the hell? This is almost exactly the bandaid I made for the MRRF, the only thing different is Alguacil and 2-3 Moblots in a Metro link because I went with minimal changes. The funny thing was, it was intended as just a bandaid to tide the MRRF over until they get a proper update in HSN3.
So you predicted a Loup and Briscard Haris? Amazing Yep, this is all good news for FRRM, with an added "if you want to collect these guys, buy them now." They will get redone in a few years, but for now the models and list are still great.
Because the phrasing is awful. Many parts of the post make it very convincingly sound like the sectorial is being removed from the game (with decent clarification only for unit profiles, which could easily imply vanilla). The Spanish version is a lot more clear. This is a good thing cleverly disguising itself as a bad thing for seemingly no reason, and some emergency clarification/editing really ought to be done. I did like the sculpts though, seeing them go will be a shame. They are old and I see the reasoning behind it though, business will be business.
No, I decided Loups and/or Briscards would be a sane place to put a haris profile, started playing this variant in private games, then wrote down the suggestion and sent it to V. Same w the idea of linking one Moblot in a bunch of Metros after mixed links appeared.
How so ? I google-translated it and didn't read anything very different By the way, the shavasti are as out of date as the mero. Should the CA player worry ? Is there another army as out of date as the mero ?
Well, sad news for the Merovingina players then... they are getting a lil' update, and then the army hits the freezer for the forseeable future. A pity.
Could you please confirm the exact list of units/blisters that will no longer be produced? Will we still have 112s? Anacondas?
I'm surprised at the chirpy optimism surrounding this announcement. Is there something in the Spanish text that confirms that MRRF will be resurrected down the line? Because this English text is decidedly agnostic on whether there will ever be a reboot of the sectorial. Doesn't affect me though so . . . meh!
Shas was said was going to get a total resculpt, and they are in fact the "new" CA sectorial for this batch. Only Onyx' models will be "safe". No, in fact the "plans for the future" are to do the same to other sectorials. So we can infer that a) the Universal Proxy update made around Uprising's time is here to stay (probably) and b) "finished" sectorials won't be getting exclusive releases and then go to "out of production" as CB's factory demands it. I would assume that only units you can only align on Merovingia and Vanilla will get out of production, with units you can find on other sectorials or factions remaining in production. I mean, the Anaconda is on all the Mercenary "sectorials", and the 112 is on USARF too... Also, since we imagine a Chasseur will be down the pipeline in 2-3 months, maybe some Merovingia units will land on RUSariadna or even a mercenary force.
The article lists which models are being discontinued. 112, Anaconda, Mirage-5, and Chasseurs aren't on that list. 112 and Anaconda also aren't strictly Merovingian units.
To be fair they were in a freezer for a long time now. All this announcement does is stuffing it to the back of it, where it'll be remembered only by the most die-hard fans. But it's still a good sectorial, models are ok-ish, and all in all it's a better place than Shasvasti are now.
Well it doesn't really surprise me. Doesn't affect me much since I already have all the models. Nice to have an update. And I cannot wait to play this campaign and say the Cambronne's word.
As a CB's customer I find this news really disturbing. "It's a living universe and it's constantly evolving so we decide to remove this sectorial from our catalogue." "This year, after the next campaign, we are no longer be producing units X, Y and Z. They all fought like true heroes and died to a man. Change is inevitable and without it there is no room for growth. We need more space to expand and add new awesome units to the game." "Due to a massive Combined Army invasion, Corregidor mothership was destroyed. Remember guys, our universe is constantly changing." Well at least FRRM got an update and this change was better communicated than uprising.
