hashasins have smoke. but dont have msv level 2 that vanilla provides. qapu khalkı has both smoke and msv level 2 all ariadna sectorials have smokes but no msv. phalanx has smokes. they are best on it. vedics ? nomads have smokes on corregidor and bakunin. on tunguska we will see. pano has no smokes ( one unit for acontacimento ) but msv3 and high tech. tohaa has smokes yujing has smokes. jsa well, sort of smokes they have. most of the sectorials have access to smokes. i am not sure if tunguska or vedics will have it too. it seems too much on first sight. however i agree with marut, asura, devas. too many msv2 options without smokes abit not well devoloped looking to me. so my guess is vedics will have a smoke and tunguska wont. its nonsense self speaking and evaluating.
Sorry I could not understand your point over the sound of (almost condescending) sarcasm. The question I am raising is with the new rules the Asura is more vulnerable to shock, which I tend to face more and more, would it be reasonable to have a regenration asura, while perhaps loosing NW:I. To me it would seem equivalent in terms of resilience, but I am interested in hearing other's opinion on this. I know this won't ever be a thing, but I can be interested in discussing it none the less.
Instead of giving her regeneration, why not giving her just "Shock inmunity" and call it a day? Mechanically speaking regeneration is far more unreliable than NWI, and just by making her inmune to shock ammo (just like Corax Hasht is now in Shasvastii) would improve her a lot and make her more easy to field. Also, being that now NWI is inherently weaker to shock, her base cost should lower a bit because of it, leaving room to that upgrade without increasing her total cost too much.
Apologies, that was not my intention. I was going for "resigned". I'm sorry, but it is nowhere close to equivalent in resilience, and, more importantly, feels completely wrong for Aleph. Not to mention that Aleph is Order-starved faction (by design pretty much) and that is another objection I have to giving us skills/equipment like Regeneration, Sniffers, Pitchers or Deployable Repeaters. We don't have the Orders to make use of this equipment in a meaningful way. Franky, the Shock ruling is silly and unreasonable, and it doesn't just affect Asura; it also hits Hector and Ajax, Charontid, Anathematic, Protheion units, Joan, and the new JSA big guy. None of these units, save perhaps Joan, are particularly points efficient - at best they are usable, most cost a load of points and in the end, they all suffer from this ruling for no reason. Arguably the only other multi-wound + NWI (or Dogged) unit that can be considered even close to "too strong" is Su Jian, and it is not affected since it has STR and not Wounds.
While I agree that Shock change is silly, I strongly disagree with this unit evaluation. Most of the units you've mentioned are very strong in most situations.
Hm. While I do accept that most of these units are very good individually, given their price tag they have to be. Especially the big three (Hector, Charontid, Anathematic) - they cost over 70 points and they need to pull their weight. But none of the units I mentioned is exceptional, amazing, must-have. It's something you take because you want to use that unit. NOTE: I don't mind this, in fact, I think this is a good thing. They can be used competitively, but only if you really want to. I don't see any of the units I mentioned as particularly good for in any mission setup. After Shock ruling, these units have been hit in usefulness. It is not a huge hit, sure, but it is a hit and my point is that none of these units was so good it needed to be taken down a peg. Asura, however, suffers from several other issues that already had her as a borderline case and this Shock ruling is just a kick while she is already down.
Yes, Asura is in a weird spot. This is mainly because the game moved on a lot since she was introduced. All MSV3 units suffer from this, but Asura got hit especially hard, since she has no additional benefits, while all other units you've mentioned have more utility - better weapon choice, flexibility provided by their link options, Stealth, etc.
giving regeneration to a PH14 unit means that, first, she is inmunne to shock. Second, she does not need a doctor close by (but Aleph's are WP15... she would be 5% more prone to self-harm, and with no rerroll). Third, the Asura is a HI, giving her Regeneration means she can go from NWI to full 2 wound with 3 orders. So no, she is not a good candidate for Regeneration, not only because her cost would rise a lot, but because she is not some sort of nanotechnological Terminator, just your friendly disguised Terminator. I'd just give her 3 wounds and be done with it, frankly.
2 wounds + NWI on a MSV3 specialist with access to its own smoke. Sir, you just redefined broken out of G: Jumper
Personally, I don't like it. I like what 2W+NWI represents, it makes for lore-wise much more satisfying experience, a Cyborg body functioning at peak efficiency until it is no longer action capable.
Considering you d be paying ~ 75 for a faux TO HI with a combi or a multi requiring precious orders to keep your "TO" up whilst moving, that'd be a lot less OP then you'd think. MSV2 shock still kills her in two wounds no penalty, and her burst is rubbish.
She is as expensive as a medium TAG, but those medium TAG have some assets she doesn't have. More armor, 3 STR (so no shock/viral vulnerability), often a HMG with fatality L1, most are specialists thanks to the pilot/drone, and they are mostly BS14 too. She has MSV-3 and a smaller silhouette, that's all. And she can't be Lt if she takes the spitfire.
2W + NWI + shock inmunity = 3W minus the Unconscious state. Frankly, I'd say "simplicity is best", thus my vote for 3W and just that. I don't like cluttered profiles. She cant be possessed at least XD
You forgot V:Courage, and that Unconscious state is actually quite important. And I prefer lore-full profiles to pointless simplicity. There's always PanO if you insist on simplicity.
Watch Andromeda and Cetus be the first example of Cyborgs riding Boston-Dynamics style dog robots for traversing rough terrain instead of motorcycles. So cheesy I'd buy it. Maybe that'd only be Phalanx though lol Source: https://nomansnodead.deviantart.com/art/Wildlife-Patrol-715374862
Quick intermission: Because it took me longer to find it than i expected, here's the source so you don't have to spend too long looking for it (plus the artist has more stuff like this in their gallery) OK, carry on with the speculation
Remember the days of the N2 MSV3 or the just the N2 Asura? Lighting up camo makers with impunity was great. Ariadna and Nomad players who ran heavy camo lists hated my Asura. She killed things just fine without camo as well. She was a a rare MOV 4-4 HI that kicked all sorts of ass. Move up to N3 and MSV3 changes from being able to shoot camo marker to being an auto discover instead. Lame and hardly as efficient. It didn't change in price either... Almost every other HI got MOV 4-4. She wasn't as special anymore. She's been left behind as the game has moved ahead as you've said. When Vedic rolls around I hope the Asura got a nice close look to help bring he back up to being that awesome killing machine who can pull her weight again.
