Okay, please hear me out on this. The current ITS 10 document has this to say about proxies:

MINIATURES All miniatures used by the players must be from Corvus Belli’s official Infinity range and must be assembled—with at least their main components—and based, using the base supplied with the figure or other of the same size. Each figure must represent faithfully the unit it stands for, including its equipment and weapon options. Should the appropriate miniature not be available on the Infinity range, you can use a different Corvus Belli miniature as a stand-in, but you must inform your opponent unequivocally of what that figure represents.

    And

PROXIES Under no circumstances can miniatures from other brands or manufacturers be used as proxies. The use of other Corvus Belli miniatures is allowed; however, players must inform their adversary which trooper is being represented. The figure must use the same size base as the trooper being represented

So by this I understand I can only proxy if the miniature is not avaliable in the CB Range. So I can't proxy the Old Raidens as Ryuken-9 because Ryuken-9 are avaliable.

However, there is a different opinion here:

Which is from Season 9, of course, but what says in this announcement is that yes, I can use the Old Raidens as Ryuken-9. This is a big deal, and has caused some commotion in our local community. What is the official ruling in this?

It's a typo in the current ITS PDF. :-(

    ITS 10 page 5
Edit: OK, you had the same text. Don't understand, what's your question is. Both say the same in my opinion.
Edit: never mind, if seen my mistake.

Memory may be a little unkind, but I recall it being announced as A Demonstration of Corvus Belli's Ongoing Commitment To The Community™ or something  and my impression was it was supposed to be a general ruling from ITS 9 onward.

So a) are the posts above intended to confirm this, and explain the confusion as an unfortunate re-inclusion of the old rule in the ITS 10 doco? And b) do we know where this leaves the status of proxying in ITS 10, or do we not know?

@DaRedOne could you not simply state in tournament doco that despite evidence to the contrary, reasonable proxies are allowed for ITS 10, as per ITS 9, and send a copy to HellLois for his official sanction?

Well, My warcor status is yet to be approved, and I'm not the one organizing the Events in Brazil, I just drum up support.

However, this is a concern for us, specially because most players (me included) have a very limited selection of miniatures, and the proxy ruling makes a bigger impact on which lists we may field.

Event organizers can just turn a blind eye. There really isn't much benefit to being a stickler for minutiae, and this just seems like an honest mistake
