Can Hackers with Cybermask Deploy in IMP-2?

    What the title says...

    Rules for Impersonation (say:
    Automatic during the Deployment Phase, provided the user passes any WIP Roll that is necessary.

    I assume this is only referring to figures that possess the Impersonation Skill itself and you can't arbitrarily activate a hacking program at the beginning of the game without spending the order, but I thought it was worth asking.

    Yeah, the rules for the Impersonation State need to be read together with the rules for the Impersonation Skill. The Skill is a Deployment Skill and says that it "allows the user to deploy in the Impersonation-1 (IMP-1) state."

    Reading the Impersonation State by itself, it would look like any trooper could deploy in the state inasmuch as its Activation is "automatic." But generally, States' Activation clauses don't mention the Skill you need to use that state - you have to look at the Skills for that.

    The Cybermask Skill isn't a deployment skill and doesn't say that it lets the user deploy in the Impersonation State.
